The Northwest Mississippi Community College - DeSoto Center, financed through the efforts of the taxpayers of DeSoto County, is a 155,000-square-foot structure on a 52-acre site just off Church Road in Southaven. This site, donated by the W. E. Ross family, offers the college opportunities to expand as DeSoto County continues to grow. Students can pursue a wide variety of academic pathways or career-technical programs of study. Classes are offered throughout the day and evening hours. The center offers services such as counseling and advising, financial aid, eLearning support, tutoring and a full-service library in addition to a number of clubs and organizations and fun campus events where commuter students can get involved.
Northwest students have the benefit of the 2+2 Program in partnership with the University of Mississippi at the Southaven location. The associate degree is offered by Northwest, and the bachelor’s degree is offered by Ole Miss in a variety of programs. A new partnership with Ole Miss, Path 4, combines the convenience of the Northwest Mississippi Community College - DeSoto Center with a more traditional straight-line experience. The program offers you a seamless, four-year experience at the Northwest Mississippi Community College - DeSoto Center with exclusive benefits—including scholarship and financial aid advantages—while you complete courses at both Northwest and Ole Miss.
Path 4 Partnership with the University of Mississippi
Northwest Mississippi Community College DeSoto Center also supports a career technical off-campus site in Northwest Mississippi Community College - Olive Branch. This location offers both classroom and lab experience in Aviation Maintenance Technology. This location also offers a Commercial Truck Driving program and a Utility Line Worker program. The Aviation Maintenance Technology program is one of only two in the state of Mississippi. Students attending these programs register through the Northwest Mississippi Community College - DeSoto Center-Southaven location.

Students can download the Zoom Cloud Meeting App on their phones, tablets, or computers. Each tutor will have an open meeting during their specified hours that students can join using the personal meeting ID (PMI).
For students planning on pursuing a four-year degree, Northwest Mississippi Community College and the University of Mississippi act as educational partners with a two-plus-two program. Northwest offers the first two years of the college academic program, and the University of Mississippi provides the third and fourth years, along with graduate study if desired. The Associate of Arts degree is awarded by Northwest, while the University of Mississippi grants baccalaureate degrees.

The Northwest Mississippi Community College - DeSoto Center has financial aid advisers as well as a Veterans Affairs representative on site to assist in the financial aid process. All financial aid counselors handle scholarship information, and general scholarships are handled by Leanna Flores.
